Shane Clarke

Founder & Head Coach

Shane here 👋🏻 Owner & Head Coach here in Unit 17.

I started my fitness journey back in 2017 when I decided I was sick of feeling crap and wanted to make a change. At the time I was almost 23 stone in weight and had a really bad lifestyle that involved binging on foods and abusing my body. When I started experiencing the benefits to fat loss and exercise I felt amazing and thought “I wish somebody showed me this earlier”. My inspiration for getting into the fitness industry was to be in a position to be able to help others who find themselves in similar positions as I once was.

Here at Unit 17 we specialise in helping busy men & women transform their lifestyles through exercise in a fun friendly way along with sustainable nutrition guidance & accountability. We have helped hundreds of people just like you become the best versions of themselves by helping them achieve the goals they never thought they could.

Ciaran Gilna


Ciarán is from County Meath and has been working in the fitness industry as a Personal Trainer for the past 2 years and is the newest addition to the team at Unit 17 Health & Fitness

Ciarán holds qualifications as a Fitness Instructor along with qualifications in Personal Training and has recently completed a AfN Certificate in Nutrition Coaching. Ciaran has a keen interest in nutrition and loves helping each member progress with their health and fitness goals.

Ciáran has been involved in fitness all his life and enjoys a real mix of sports, taking part in GAA, Soccer, Athletic and MMA

Linda Fay


Linda has been in the fitness industry 3 years and is qualified personal trainer, fitness instructor and also has qualifications in Kettlebells and TRX. Originally starting off as a client, Linda was once overweight, depressed & struggling while also raising a family.

Linda says the best thing about being a coach is seeing people progress and seeing clients smiling when they finally realise what they have achieved in the gym and how much their confidence has grown.

He watches your every movement in detail so you can get the most out of every session. Another reason I like working with Shane, if you have an issue with a particular exercise or movement you don't feel comfortable with he will suggest an alternative. At no point do you feel embarrassed that you can't do something.
